How we can help

Share the Dignity

HMF #pinkbox

In March 2021 HMF launched a campaign to raise $10,000 toward a Dignity Vending Machine, affectionately known as a #pinkbox and we smashed it by June!

$10,000 freaked us at first… but to break it down it was 100 of us raising $100 – not so scary.

Why Share the Dignity & a #pinkbox?

Nobody who experiences a period should go without period products – and no one should miss out on school, work, play, or food as a result. That is exactly what happens to many of our fellow Australians.

The Dignity Vending Machine (DVM) dispenses a FREE period pack with six tampons and two pads. The machine is there to help those in need. $10,000 is enough to create and install a DVM with enough product for 12 months.

As $’s are raised they are installed in Charities, Homeless Hubs, Domestic violence refuges, Community Centres, Hospitals, Aboriginal health services, Public toilets, and schools in low socioeconomic areas.

Through the efforts of our HMF tribe, a box is up and running in a library/community hub in rural NSW. If you are near the Cootamundra War Memorial Library in NSW make sure you pop in and say hello.

A second box is now installed as well! Thanks to a fund matching application to Healing Hands & doTERRA, a school for kids in Victoria who don’t thrive in mainstream education now have access to free period products.

Period Pride

Launched in March 2021 Oscar and Veronica were proud to be asked to be a part of the Period Pride campaign.

What is Period Pride? It’s a movement to end shame and stigma that surrounds periods. To start the conversation four pairs were asked to be a part of the campaign and talk freely and frankly about their experience of periods.

As part of the campaign Share the Dignity undertook the Bloody Big Survey. With over 100,000 respondents this survey will provide data to educate and affect change around menstrual health in Australia. A big thankyou to all of the HMF community who took part.
